Reasonable reasoning...

You know, as a child when I would ask my mother why I couldn't do something or had to do something, I always hated when she would respond with "Because I said so". Always seemed so unfair, it is a non-reason really. Funny how age changes the perspective on things. I myself do not have children yet, though I do have many close friends with kids who I am around a lot..... I have to say,  as an adult, seeing the trouble children can get into and cause, "Because I said so" now seems to me to be a perfectly reasonable response in many situations. Just sayin'

Andrew Joseph Chenell

Today is my Pop-Pops birthday. This year will be 3 years since we lost him to complications of a stroke. I miss him everyday. I regret that I did not spend more time with him, and I hope he knows how very much he was loved. Time is so fleeting, and you never know how much of it you have. Make it count.

Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell. ~Edna St Vincent Millay

Happiness is...

My husband snoozing on the couch with two of the dogs
A quiet house and a good cup of coffee
Bodha dog snoring at my feet
Rollerskating with old high school friends.
Yes, rollerskating, I am going to Portland (Maine) to help my high school friend Jason celebrate his wedding. And we will be doing it on eight wheels each. Now this is not his wedding, they already got married, presumably by a JP. I don't really know the details, just that about 3 weeks ago there was a photo and a facebook status saying "Surprise! We got married!" Which is fabulous, being married myself, I am all for getting hitched! Even more fabulous is I have not seen Jason in approximately 13 years?! I am.so.so.so.excited. I might pee my pants. No, not really but you get the idea.

I will admit to being slightly hesitant about the rollerskate part. I mean I haven't been on skates since I was...12? But I am a good sport so wheels it is!

All in all, life is good. I love and I feel loved.

Well that's all, I am just feeling particularly happy and blessed today, ecstatic really, and felt like putting it out "there".
